ABOUT MOUNT RINJANI

Rising 3,726 meters above sea level, Mount Rinjani is the second tallest mountain in Indonesia and an active volcano with a wide range of landscapes and pockets of incredible natural beauty. The trip up Rinjani is definitely challenging, but you won’t regret it when you are perched on the island looking out over the edge of the ocean and to the volcanic peaks of neighboring Bali and Sumba rising above the clouds. This amazing adventure takes three days and four nights, which really allows you to get close and personal with Mount Rinjani. You start by trekking through a rainforest past lush greenery and gnarled tree roots and branches. Then you make your way higher to rockier and cooler climes until you reach the crater rim where you will camp for the night. As the sun rises, the next morning you will be treated to views over Lombok, the islands and Mount Agung rising above Bali in the distance. After breakfast it is stunning, the aquamarine lake and the hot springs where you can get tired muscles in the heated natural spring pools. It’s the most challenging, but also the most rewarding, you will finally make your way to the summit of the volcano. From the top, you can see the sunrise over the entire island of Lombok, lighting up the gorgeous crater lake below, as well as the neighboring scattered along Indonesian islands Ring of Fire. This is definitely a track and a half, but also an unforgettable experience like no other. .
